The LG2 was made from 1942 – 1962, possibly the most desirable small bodied post war Gibson model available. It’s a 00 size guitar with X bracing, making the guitar extremely resonant – a surprisingly big sound for a small bodied guitar. It’s getting difficult to find early 50’s examples. The most obvious difference with 50’s LG2’s is the neck – it’s fuller feeling – meaning it carries richer tone and greater sustain. The guitar is in fantastic playing condition, and the tobacco burst is simply stunning. Tonally it’s one of those guitars that just makes you want to play and play, reminiscent of so many old blues recordings. The guitar’s in surprisingly good shape for it’s age – all the cool looking lacquer checking is the giveaway. This guitar does have a minor crack below the bridge. Comes with the original chip board case.
