The Gibson Marcus King ES-345 reimagines Marcus's original 1962 ES-345 — a cherished instrument passed down through three generations of King-family guitarists — combining the timeless style and sound of "Big Red" with modern stability and stage-ready performance. It all starts with a period-correct foundation of a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body, a solid maple center block, and quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing that rings out with a rich and articulate resonance, captured in all its complexity by a pair of Gibson's Custombucker pickups. These ultra-accurate PAF replications sing with a warm, dynamic, and undeniably vintage-tinged voice, and they excel with Marcus's expressive blues/rock hybrid sound. Next, the comfortable rosewood-topped Rounded mahogany neck gleams with acrylic split parallelogram inlays and cream binding. As for the gold hardware, the Gibson Marcus King ES-345 replaces the sideways tremolo of the original guitar with a fixed vibrola that mirrors the majesty of the original with hardtail reliability. Capped with Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a custom Marcus King anchor stud tailpiece, the Gibson Marcus King ES-345 seamlessly streamlines Marcus's '62 without losing an ounce of Big Red's legendary 6-string soul.
